FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What is my first appointment like?

  • Typically your first appointment will run between 1 and 1 1/2 hours in length and will consist of your physical therapist getting to know you and the issue you have been having by evaluating your range of motion, flexibility, and strength to name a few. They then will formulate a treatment plan and goals for you. They also might recommend some home exercises to do in between appointments to speed up your recovery process.

When should I arrive?

  • If this is your first appointment and you have not filled out the paperwork yet, please arrive 15 minutes early to complete. Check in with reception to see if we need to scan in your insurance card and script if we haven't already.

  • If this is your follow up appointment, we suggest arriving 5 minutes early in order to check in with reception to see if we need anything else from you that we might have missed, as well as collect payment before being treated.

What should I bring with me?

  • At your first appointment, you should bring in your intake paperwork (found under the New Patients tab), as well as your insurance card and script from your doctor (if not direct access).

What if I don't have a script?

  • If you don't have a script from a doctor, or are being referred to us by a friend or current/former patient, we are still able to see you for physical therapy for 10 visits or 30 days, whichever comes first.  Please let us know if this is the case, as you will have to fill out our direct access forms, which explains that your insurance may not cover the cost of physical therapy without having a script for such. Please note Medicare, NO Fault, and Workers Compensation all require a script from a physician and cannot use direct access.

What should I wear?

  • We prefer for you to wear something comfortable that you can move in, as well as sneakers or athletic shoes since you most likely will be moving around. We also suggest loose clothing that can allow access to the site of injury easily. For example, if you are being seen for your knee, we suggest that you wear shorts.

Who should I contact if I have a billing issue?

  • For our Lockport office, contact Jeanise at 716-439-0345.

  • For our Williamsville office, contact Karen at 716-626-1824.

How frequent do I need to come to physical therapy?

  • Depending on your script or how you are progressing according to your physical therapist, frequency can vary and change throughout the course of your treatment. Typically physical therapy is for 2-3 times a week for 6 weeks, but can be continued for longer or shorter than 6 weeks and less than or more than 2-3 times a week.

How much does physical therapy cost?

  • Your initial evaluation will be $100 with the follow up appointments being $50 for private pay patients. Payment will vary with insurance type so please call our offices to check with reception if you are unsure as to how much you will be paying for your treatment.
